First Title provides its unique range of innovative products and services to customers throughout Australia.

First Title assists residential and commercial property lenders and owners in streamlining and protecting real estate transactions to greater levels than can be achieved through traditional avenues.

Title insurance protects the insured against loss caused by a range of property risks related to the insured's legal interest in the land, whether that is a freehold or leasehold ownership interest. It is not a guarantee that no challenge to the insured's title will ever be made, or that any such challenge can successfully be defended. It is an indemnity that the title insurer will successfully defend the challenge or if unsuccessful indemnify the insured against their loss if an insured risk occurs.

First Title is the trading name of First American Title Insurance Company of Australia Pty Limited. First Title is authorised to do business in the Commonwealth of Australia as a general insurer. First Title operates under the authority of the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) and is a registered company with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC).

First Title holds an Australian Financial Services (AFS) licence (licence no. 263876) which authorises it to provide general insurance product advice and to deal in general insurance products to both retail and wholesale clients. Our underwriting risks are reinsured with a related company in the United States, First American Title Insurance Company.
