The Mortgage & Finance Association of Australia (MFAA)
is a leading provider of service and representation to mortgage brokers, finance brokers,
mortgage managers, lenders (bank and non-bank), and originators to assist them develop,
foster, and promote the mortgage and finance industry.
It advocates ethical business practices, works closely with
national and state Governments, offers industry specific education, provides compliance and
legal information, runs a consumer information programme and industry networking events.
Integrity - To maintain the absolute highest level of
professional standards of members in the eyes of the
consumer.
Personal Growth - To facilitate the development of competencies
for members during the course of their professional careers.
Representation - To represent our profession in the community
at all levels of public life.
Organisation and management Standards - To ensure that
this Association's structures meet the need of our Members
in a fast changing environment.
The UDIA is a federation of five state associations
that aim to promote the urban development industry in achieving
sustainable urban development. With an important national voice
on development matters, the UDIA takes an active interest in
government decisions and decision making processes affecting
the industry, and aims to advance the interest of members by
lobbying, communication and research. The UDIA provides opportunity
for networking and education through their comprehensive events
program and fosters industry achievement through their Awards
for Excellence.
The Lending Industry XML Initiative (LIXI) is a non-profit,
independent industry organisation established to utilise new
technologies for the removal of barriers to data exchange within
the Australian lending industry. Through the work of LIXI it
is intended that member organisations will be able to provide
better and faster services to their customers at lower cost.
This is being achieved through the ongoing development of platform
independent, open standards for the exchange of lending-related
data to replace numerous incompatible and proprietary approaches.
As LIXI's name suggests, these standards are being built upon
XML (eXtensible Markup Language), an enabling technology generally
accepted as a vital component in the future of electronic commerce.
The Australian Securitisation Forum Inc. (ASF)
was formed in 1989 to promote the development of securitisation
in Australia. It does this through the education of government,
regulatory and other authorities, the public, investors, and
others with an interest or potential interest, both in Australia
and overseas, in the benefits of securitisation. In 2002, the
ASF became an incorporated association pursuant to the Associations
Incorporations Act 1984 NSW.
The business of the ASF is
conducted by a national committee of 11 industry representatives
and 6 specialist sub-committees.
Australian Institute of Conveyancers (AIC) NSW Division
The Australian Institute of Conveyancers (NSW Division) is the principle
professional body representing licensed conveyancers in NSW. Their purpose is to:
promote, reform and improve the conveyancing profession,
to represent the views of the profession and its members,
to encourage and promote the study of conveyancing, and
to encourage honourable conduct and best practices throughout the profession.
In order to achieve these objectives the Institute's
activities include lobbying Government and related bodies to improve and amend
legislation, provision of educational programs and tools to enable members to increase
their competence and professional standards and the active promotion of the profession
and conveyancing in general.
